off to the track. only playing the pick 6 today, but here's the best of the spot plays (in case i'm out of the pick 6 early!)...
r1: chautaqua. taking a chance on the price horse in a short field. spring star had every chance to win last time, but hung badly, and alozaina has always over-promised and underdelivered. taking a shot with frankie alvarado with an improving filly who should be close to the pace.
r4: affluent. never really liked you from bobby frankel's stable for some reason. i can't quite put my finger on it, perhaps it's her short price losses or maybe she just doesn't seem to be spectacular at any one particular distance. anyway, she gets a big class test with the fantastic affluent. hopefully bear fan can keep you pinned down on the rail and allow affluent to swing on by at the 16th pole.
r5: is it true mex. this one loves the sprint layout at hollywood and has been given a fast blowout drill to wake him up. he's getting up there in age, but with the short odds losses in his last few, maybe the price will creep up for low-profile connections.
r6: the second best 3 yo in the country, behind empire maker. period.
r8: damar wayne. not thrilled backing recent maiden winners routing on turf for the first time, but we'll get a good rpice with valdivia. have a terible feeling he's going to put this horse in the shuffler turning for home, but at generous odds, i'll take my chances.
r9: kudos. taking a stand against congaree at his least preferred distance off the layoff.
good luck.
